From time to time, I try to be a good sport and help the Democrats. This is maybe a fool’s errand because Democrats are adamant that they want no help. In this present dispensation where they’re wringing their hands and bemoaning their bad fortunes, their disquiet may sound unified but that’s far from the case. They desperately want a win of any sort but a win for one of them may be a terrible lose to their fellow creatures (being identity sensitive here). The last time I broached this topic, it was in the context of Trump’s election win while they were still in denial about why they lost and they had not, as a few of them have begun to do so now, begin to admit the error of their ways, things like transing everyone’s kids, inciting violence against Jews, or hiring pink-haired black queers as their highest qualification for something like air traffic controller. Believe it or not, plenty of them are still sold on these kinds of affinities. Essentially, my advice to Democrats then was to adopt the agenda of Donald Trump and out-Trump Trump. Fat chance, that isn’t going to happen. There is really no hope of getting these people back to mainstream America. They’re lost and they’re quite churlish about being told anything reasonable to real human beings. Told by who? And that kids is the queue about what might be their only hope of regenerating themselves, if they could figure out who is their leader. When I listen to them speak, the only one really saying the right things – on some issues, not all obviously – but that person might be John Fetterman.
I focus on a handful of opposition personalities and write about them occasionally and John Fetterman has come up for me a couple of times. His career is as a dependable lefty but that was subdued when he had his stroke and still managed to get elected to the Senate. For a year or two, I was nearly convinced that he really was dead and had been replaced by a body double who had some semi-obvious different face and head characteristics. Not only that, but he started to say things that seemed almost conservative. To summarize this, a) he really is/was a body double that went rogue, or b) his stroke somehow really did start to fix his brain, or else c) he is truly evolving into a more reasoned person. I don’t know which and I don’t care. He is nevertheless adopting some positions that would, if his peers followed him, bring the Democrat Party back from the edge of ruin and back into the mainstream. Be just a little bit God-smacked here Democrats because I’m giving you the holy grail that you all are looking for and yet I don’t think you want to hear it.
What are his peers thinking? Self-destructive thoughts. It should seem obvious to Democrats now that hard core conservatives and the great mass of fluid secretive supporters of conservatism are now united and public, showing unprecedented support behind Trump but more importantly, the America First agenda which transcends Trump. Sure, a lot of them are fickle but these two groups together spell long term doom to Democrats as they hold steady with their forced march into the abyss. There are what I’d consider three groups of people among their ranks that that would lead the party into the tar pits of destruction.
Sen. Bernie, Sen. Liz Warren, Rep AOC, DNC David Hogg, NYC mayoral candidate Mandami, all of these are promising outright socialism or even communism as the answer to the Democrats ills and woes. But what about elections? Sure, super-blue jurisdictions will elect them but remember when Biden was the essential to front the party as a [false] ‘moderate’? No.
Beto Orourk, Gov Newsom, strategist Carville, people in this group are promising Armageddon as the answer to the Democrat woes. IF we win, when we eventually win, however we can win, (how exactly will you plan to win?), once they and their Democrats win, they’ll ram in unlimited illegals and declare them citizens, gerrymander themselves dozens of new representatives, create new states, pack Congress, pack the Supreme Court and say to everyone, FUMF!, we’re declaring a full forced takeover of the country by any means possible for permanent and perpetual control. Again, how does this outright aggression appeal to an electorate beyond your 35% of obedient slaves? How will you manage if you can’t vote harvest, if elections require a picture ID and citizenship, if there are no drop boxes, and Dominion voting machines are banned most places?
Most everyone else. Mouthing vague stupid platitudes that are reflexively the opposite of any and everything said and accomplished by Donal Trump. This includes a great many that are privately agreeing with and enjoying the fruits of those things said and done by the Donald. They do this is a hasty attempt to demonstrate leadership, having no clue that that is not leadership. The irony, the only one I see willing to stand against the lemming mob and exercise real leadership is Fetterman.
Bonus Category, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, making incoherent babbling nonsense consistent with habitual inebriation.
Would I personally vote for Fetterman? Of course not, he isn’t that reformed. I also have questions about his long-term viability regarding his health, although he’ll still best Joe Biden by far for the foreseeable future.
I just happen to think that having 35% of the country enthralled with deeply and truly desperate ‘leadership’ that are hardcore dedicated to ideas totally foreign and hostile to American governance, even under traditional Democrat control, I think that is not good at all. Someday, they may prevail, hopefully not in my lifetime, but I fear for everyone I care for under that prospective scourge. What I really like most about Fetterman are not just some of his ideas more aligned with sane American values, but rather his ability to stand up and say things into the hateful wind of his peers. That quality is the only Trump-like attribute that is going to save the whole of the Democrat party and perhaps save it from extinction.
