What Happened in 2023 and What That Means Going Forward

What happened in 2023?

X, [formerly Twitter], acquired by Musk in 2022, became an existential force against the vast censorious regime to include the full collusion of government Deep State agencies and mainstream media. While this was not the only breech in regime communication control, the long-term effects of this cannot be underestimated. One could make the argument that much on this list might not have happened had it not been for this pocket of free speech.

AI stepped out of the shadows (it was already here) and became available as a retail computing source for laymen. It’s coming out was inauspicious as it showed its considerable weaknesses and biases, the latter surely being a long-term problem linked to its ‘masters’. Biased or not, it’s as dangerous as science fiction makes it out to be but will first enjoy a season of bountiful productivity and acceptance. It’ll be for the next wave of technocrats to decide if they can or will tame it or destroy it or if it destroys us. Expect it to be fought over, made available to factions and suppressed for others in the quest to dominate.

Congress, the House of Representatives most specifically, having captured a Republican majority, took its first very imperfect but nevertheless genuine steps toward returning to its America First roots. While the ‘Establishment’ guard is far from dead, maybe we can envision the day they become extinct.

Trump became the first fully bonifide political martyr in the history of the United States, fully guaranteeing his party’s nomination, and if given a true election, the overwhelming favored to win the general election.

All manifestations of ‘woke’, having reached critical levels of forced adoption in American institutions, have nevertheless begun to crumble on the threshold of arrival. Some Blacks show signs of leaving the Woke plantation. The lawsuit phase of gender dysphoria and reassignment is just barely beginning. While institutions counted on the success of a beatdown of all dissent against Woke initiatives, the natives aren’t having it and now fight back. It’s nearly a mass movement. Budweiser yesterday, Disney tomorrow, Harvard the day after.

Climate-change dissent is starting to organize. Its not fully here yet but it’s improving. Climate change freaks like John Kerry or Greta Thunberg are automatically and loudly mocked. The regulatory state is attempting a bum-rush, a last effort to create regulatory laws to force their agenda but it’s not a lock by any means. It may be too little too late and their regulation will be forcefully trashed if Trump wins.

Israel was attacked and now wages real war which will not cease until they’ve won, regardless of how loud the antisemites scream. This reverses a generation of compromise. This will shape the next 100 years of Middle east policy. Domestically here, Democrats are fractured to an extent that no one is yet admitting or articulating. Democrats are about to lose a significant and perhaps the smartest piece of their base, or else, that base will cease being Jewish, as in terminal secularization. If there is no Israel, literally or as a longing, there are no Jews.

In 2023, we learned that most of the American and global left really are virulently antisemitic Jew haters, that they are Fascist, they are Hitler, as they literally proclaim death on all Jews.

2023 will be the year we look back on as the year that Ivy League schools started an abrupt descent in influence and power. Soon, a Harvard or Yale (et al) degree will be politely laughed at as signifying a particular ideological devotion and prejudice in place of credentialed intellectualism. Go ahead and hire the lad if you want a trained agitator in your firm. Caveat emptor.

No one can say that in 2023, Joe Biden became senile as he was obviously senile at the start of his term. However, it was the year that his people started to publicly admit it. What’s amazing is there are people that appear to still pretend they can push his desiccated corpse across the 2024 finish line, the President that now routinely babbles unintelligibly and literally needs assistance to find the exit of a stage. Moreso than this, Biden-the-corrupt, is now household knowledge and the majority that support him are still perfectly fine with that corruption; but 2023 is also the year that his cloud of enablers started to think about the viability of their own careers past 2024 and are not so sure they want to be so close to the stench of Biden, the most corrupt President in our nation’s history, making Nixon look like a Boy Scout.

It may not be household knowledge yet but 2023 is the year Barack Obama was flushed out as the insurrectionist that he is. He will not be able to escape the tag. The more he tries, the more all will know that is who he is.

2023 may be the last year of freedom as we’ve known it. Who can say. Sometimes, you don’t know what happened in real time until you experience the future. We already lost the guarantee of free and fair elections in 2020 and we’re perilously close to having other basic constitutional rights taken out by fiat.

There’s a million ways to break down a year and mine version here is mostly just a thin slice of civic life but it ‘s far from the most real and meaningful compilation to me. What happens to your family, yourself is what counts the most, yet we must always keep one eye fixed outside of our own perimeter.
