The liberal establishment’s Clinton obsession is blowing up in its face
Web Publication: New York Post, by John Podhoretz
The watch begins
Fortunately this excruciatingly bad election cycle is almost over. One of the two parties – neither of which can fathom defeat – is going to have to face defeat in all of its glorious horror. That’s the main theme of this opinion piece by John Podhoretz, with a focus on the Clinton campaign.
On September 11, 2016, I wrote a similar opinion piece, ‘The chosen one’, which highlights the same pattern. My piece is a short macro view, while John Podhoretz captures the nitty-gritty anguish on the ground. One perspective toward the end of his piece is unique and timely. John is not a Trump fan. He, along with other conservative writers, actively criticized Trump’s campaign. He points out that many prominent Republicans also worked to denounce it. The same cannot be said of Democrat leadership. The Republicans tried to take care of business in their own house. They just failed. The Democrats, in contrast, became lemmings for their flawed candidate.
