This is what it will be like to protest in 2020, when the state is watching your every move

How to be a marked man
By posting this insightful queue, I am probably furthering my own marked status. The details in the story, based on dozens of tiny observations I’ve made over the past couple of years, are probably already well behind the curve. Nevertheless, it’s a good concise rendering of how visible you are to authorities – if they choose to watch. The most important realization is to understand that you’ve already given most of the permissions necessary simply by your choice to own and use a smart phone. Everything beyond that is more nuanced. As long as we have functioning civil democratic government, strained economic resources, and no shortage of standard lawbreakers, there is probably little to worry about in the short term. If, on the other hand, we get government that tramples the constitution, we may be in hot water. Add just a couple more years to this and all of these surveillance details are managed by artificial intelligence in the hands of perhaps a shadow state, we’re all in deep trouble.
