Each week here recently, I read three or four news pieces where Democrat leadership, left thinkers and left celebrities vow to obstruct the upcoming presidency and Republicans in general. For example, Robert Reich (.org) who was sensible and well reasoned in the immediate aftermath of the election about where his party went wrong, penned a piece called “The First 100 Days Resistance Agenda”. As far as I can tell, the article holds out no affirmative answers for the voters that scorned his nominee. This appears to be the creeping agenda of the left that I started to address in a previous post, Just Keep It Up.
Perhaps the Dems, having protested so much that the Republicans blocked the agenda of Dear Leader, they simply want to return the favor. I’d beg to differ on this though. In fact, it was because the GOP leadership was so often cowed by Obama that we saw the populist anger that resulted in Trump, but that’s water over the dam.
I am offering my services to the Dems as a consultant here and now to help you forge a return to power. Please PM me to get my address about where to send the check! So here is your prescription: Lay off the obstructionist bull. It will endear you to no one but yourselves. Give up globalism. Deny George Soros. Out-legislate Trump and the Republicans on all things that create jobs for all and reduce expenses for small business. Give those red states that voted against you more autonomy in their education choices. Stop trying to ram federal regulations and coastal morality down the throats of Middle America. And yes, tell your media henchmen to just report the news instead of playing social change agents. Tell your movie star acolytes to get back to making movies and stop projecting their gilded enlightenment. Make your case for what you can offer the middle class. Stop kissing the ass of the super-wealthy and pretending to help the poor. You may want to even think up serious opportunities for people of color instead of the past eight year of symbolism over substance. Eight long wasted years of deteriorating race relations. One last bonus please: Please keep your ex-candidate and her tightknit coterie of henchmen permanently out to pasture. They blew the lead of the century – deservedly so. Pretend you never knew them. These measures will do so much more for you than obstructionism.
