Late is better than never. ‘Facebook’ lost $30 billion today. Their quarterly earnings were staggeringly off. If you do direct stock transactions, you might want to cut your losses. It’s easy to read the news and make dire prognostications, but I’ve had a feeling brewing for awhile now. I have some personal observations about the Zuck and his operations, so this isn’t entirely new. Bottom Line Up Front: Facebook (which now is just one core product of ‘Meta’) is doomed. It’s a Myspace. It’s a piece of junk mail in your mailbox. It’s not the letter from your friend. It’s the warning letter from your ‘community’ association. It’s the troll neighbor down the street. That’s why Facebook as you used to know it is/has gone away. Was it cause or effect? Both.
Facebook will still exist – for awhile at least. Mark Zuckerberg has abused and neglected it as a pain in his posterior. A weary emperor he is, heavy lies the crown. Meta is his new toy. Unfortunately, that’ll get some traction, unfortunate because like some artificial high of a novel heroin, some millions or billions of people will give away their core humanity to play in his metaverse, but even there, I predict that he’s too old, too out of touch, too late, and others, far nimbler than he, will rule that unfortunate world.
That is my prediction.
Addendum 2/4/22: It is with great interest to observe that Mark Zuckerberg is undergoing a curious change of appearance marked by diminishing eyebrows, something odd and hollow in his eyes, and by a deathly complexion. Bad camera work? I doubt it. I’d suggest secret attempts at transhumanism or nootropics. I don’t think it’s going well. Mark Zuckerberg could become the Michael Jackson of his generation, only it’s a lot more than his face. It’s his entire mind. To be continued.
