It is now being said with some regularity that young people are being enticed to socialism en masse. I question this. Not that it hasn’t been the case before that revolutions favor the young. Not that it is no longer true that: if you’re not socialist in your youth, you have no heart, and, if you’re still a socialist when you’re old, you have no brain. Youth do tend toward easy answers, concepts, and life solutions. Their brain isn’t even fully developed until they’re in their mid-twenties, maybe longer. Add drugs into the equation and they may never fully develop.
Still, I doubt very much there’s a stampede among American youth toward socialism that was not there last year, or the year before, or the year before that. If anything, facts on the ground disfavored socialism and I’m not just talking about MAGA.
The socialist, the DSA, the Marxist, sure, they’re suddenly out there loud and proud and are more or less successfully pulling off a coup against the Democrat party but these are in deep blue cities and counties or more importantly, in jurisdictions that are apathetic and plagued by low voter turnout; there are plenty of their own young in those enclaves. They know how to leverage themselves and their ideology against a weak ingrown status quo Democrat stronghold and repackage it as a popular mandate.
Sure, they do this with an array of radical and disaffected young and marginally young people because they are easily manipulated. But I have a different hunch about what’s going on. If you focus on the liberal white women, you are closer to the truth. They can be young or old, it doesn’t matter. Take liberal white women out of the socialism equation and you have absolutely nothing left. The boys just want video games, porn, and free food when there’s no outside money pouring in.
There’s also the Islamist. When they take over a jurisdiction, they do so according to a carefully crafted long term master plan honed over centuries – literally. It’s adapted to American electoral realities, most especially to populist socialist ideologies, but it’s still based directly out of the Quran. It just so happens that they’re here also by design, a great replacement strategy designed by America’s enemies outside our gates and by agents inside, Barack Obama being a chief cause inside. If you take all of the young people out of the equation, we still see a viable insurgency by the Islamist.
What’s really going on with the young? Economic hopelessness is most often cited. It’s an easy assumption to think the mindset is universal but the reality is more complicated. As with every generation, there are winners and losers; let’s get that settled first. They’re not all going to make it. The wife, house, 2 kids, dog and 2 cars in the driveways will be beyond some of them, just like it was the generation before them, the one before that, ad infinitum. It’s an attractive myth to suggest to the less-inclined-to make-it, that they will have a full share of prosperity.
How the young see it being sold to them: you will be provided for once we strip ‘the billionaires’ of their wealth.
How conservatives see it: the non-productive will be provided for by making all of us productive people poor.
How it really works out: The new prosperous will be party elite pillaging mostly the middle-class, joined by the old prosperous that enabled them. Enemies of socialism will be victimized. Society’s losers will eat promises of future provision for the indefinite future. They were, are, and will forever be used as pawns.
Young people are presented with a choice, overtly, by cumulative training, or by epiphany: Which side do you want to be on? Do you want to make it or do you want to be a victim?
The great irony is that socialism is most enticing to the most privileged, the ones whose mommy and daddy paid their full freight to go to the best colleges from whence they are taught to identify with and to become the victim class. In as much as colleges are being abandoned by a quickly growing margin of males that exercise a far more pragmatic approach toward their personal future economics, the liberal white privileged female is becoming the core of socialist electoral energy. Their age is tertiary as their liberalism will follow them decades into an increasingly childless future. Males are going one way, females the opposite.
Fortune has it that the not so privileged are far more secure from socialism for reasons more enduring than America-hating dark money fueled activism. The laws that really guide this class of young people could be summed up as follows:
- Prosperous adults tend to form prosperous kids. This is not a bug; it’s a feature that enables successful kids as long as they’re not poisoned by faux intelligentsia in the education systems.
- Prosperity may come easy to a few but it is unattainable to the lazy of any caliber. No matter what class structure you come from, if you’re lazy or a natural fool, you will never prosper and should not be artificially propped up.
- Where opportunity exists, non-privileged kids have the option to choose prosperity and not be losers.
- Where opportunity does not exist, it will not be found by anyone except the socialist exploiters that have destroyed those opportunities for everyone else.
- Prosperity by fraud does not end well.
- Being a serf of the state is not prosperity.
- When you own nothing, you will not be happy.
