In Biden’s address to the nation, his teleprompter signaled a significant tactical change in how his administration would now appropriate the Covid pandemic for their strategic goals. Both before and after the speech, Our Lord and Savior, Dr Anthony Fauci also made pronouncements seeming to indicate that Covid restrictions might possibly be loosened, just a little, in the near or not so near future, maybe, pending data, because they apparently don’t already have data, or they do, but a sustained 2 month plus precipitous drop in new daily Covid cases and millions of doses of Trump’s anti-pharma-bureaucracy vaccine have already been injected and those people are now safe from infection – that data. They need more. Fauci and Biden hold out hope that you may be able to travel four streets over and see if grandma is really still alive. Biden was even more forthright by declaring that Fourth of July would certainly be Independence Day from Covid – at least enough to meet with not one, but two family members. These signals constitute a seismic about face in the administration’s Covid stance.
You may recall that prior, even up until this past week, the Biden Fauci duo were committed to a long term Covid emergency response. Their estimates of how long were vague and changed frequently, but synthesizing them together, their wish list was for another full year of Covid tyranny. Fauci was making bald political pronouncements and hardly even bothered to tie them to science anymore, even though he mumbled the word ‘science’ at least once. In what seems to be a perverse instinct of theirs’s, they apparently viewed the 2020 dictatorial powers of the likes of Cuomo, Whitmer, and Newsom as a gift that was rightfully Biden’s turn now. Perhaps they craved the opportunity to create a big splash as had Trump, with a vaccine in record time. Who knows, but they wanted it badly and needed another full year of dread to accomplish that.
Unfortunately for them, Covid had other plans as infection rates started falling even well before the inauguration. [For possible whys and wherefores, data and theories, you can follow my chain of commentary via links to articles back several months.] Biden Fauci basically ignored the profound change happening right under their noses, pretended it didn’t exist, right up until the past week. Everyone else could see it, some states such as Texas even opened up fully. Finally, this past week, Biden Fauci finally realized they had to make a major course adjustment to avoid looking like utter fools – the only ones in the room pretending reality didn’t exist.
A specific detail worth mentioning here is the role of the vaccine in this genesis. Fauci held it up as the holy grail of pandemic cure all of last year, under Trump, while it was ostensibly being developed under his oversight, and yet safe enough in the future that approval and distribution remained – to them – unreachable. You may recall that Fauci himself threw cold water on the idea of quick completion of the process until it became apparent that Trump’s timetable would indeed be realized. As soon as it was being distributed, to him no less, on camera, his enthusiasm for its efficacy died down to a whimper.
Where Biden Fauci stood only a week ago was that the vaccine was essential for all to get, but simultaneously, it might not work against a long list of caveats, variants, for how long, implying even that they might not work without continued use of masks (even as most masks are clinically proven to have marginal effectiveness). Some not so indoctrinated national and state leadership balked with incredulity. “What’s the point then?” Fauci’s hedging put him in direct contradiction to the vaccine he touted. The real data along with the outcry finally pushed the administration’s public posture to flip 180 degrees. Flip they did.
Where to now? Let’s watch the numbers now. There are two routes this could go in the short term. The vaccines are as effective as studies have shown, and that along with natural herd immunity takes daily cases down to under 10k per month and we then focus on finding out what is the long-term efficacy and whether booster vaccine shots are necessary. If this happens, Biden Fauci have to find an entirely new crisis (they will). If for any reason the vaccination fails to offer widespread protection, we’re in no-man’s land so far as public policy is concerned. Think civil unrest.
As for Covid, we need to be prepared and understand that the ultimate resolution to this pathogen is to develop natural immunity responses and accept mortality for those that don’t make it – in this case, mostly those who are already of age and medical condition to leave this earth. This was my first word on Covid and it may very well be my last.
As for Fauci, there is a special aside for him. He is well documented to have been funding the Wuhan lab from which Covid almost certainly escaped. [Do the research, you’ll find it] He was funding gain of function studies, through the proxy of American universities even though his prior work in that field had been shut down by Obama. In that context, it begins to look conspicuous how he’s treated vaccine development and efficacy. If there is any possibility that Covid ultimately outsmarts all attempts to eradicate it because it was engineered to those properties, Fauci might ultimately become known as the worst ‘evil scientist’ of this century. With or without a satisfactory ending to Covid, he is hiding something more and that’s where attention will ultimately fall.
