If you’ve followed my article posts on Ukraine since the beginning of the war almost exactly one year ago, you’ll know that I’ve taken a position that’s anathema to a lot of conservatives, support the war effort as necessary. The war was completely avoidable and happened primarily because Putin observed a weak flaccid Biden and determined that an invasion was doable. While highly disgusting of Biden, support was nevertheless needed. Here are major camps that have evolved for or opposed to assisting Ukraine. The Biden globalists are for support as are what I’d call ‘hegonomist’. Hegonomists, I included, are the ones that believe that preserving a certain balance of power in Europe is necessary in spite of whatever problems there are in the common European cause. Other such believers are most of Congress, Democrat and Republican. Against the war are conservative isolationist, old school traditional antiwar leftist, and an assortment of believers opposed to an array of ‘new world order’ possibilities. This last one describes the dominant anti-Ukraine party in the US. While I consider myself very much an anti-‘one-world’ activist, I have not sided with this latter party because I find them in full denial of the far more obvious geopolitical reality, a sovereign European nation fighting for its survival and subsequent wider ramifications. Nevertheless, I’m increasingly with them on one aspect of their position, based on how the struggle over Ukraine support is evolving.
I’ve prior pointed out that those opposed to supporting Ukraine should be ready, willing, and equipped to defend the alternatives. All I can hear on that score is silence. There are some that have touted that a Russian – Ukraine conflict is a war between brothers so why should we intervene? To take that and apply it elsewhere, what would we countenance? Who are more than brothers than the Chinese and Taiwanese? Are we ready to lay out the welcome mat to Xi and invite him to be reunited to his Taiwan brothers? Should we ask those people to go home to China, prone, on all fours? The same could be said for North and South Korea. If ever there were a single family divided, it’s that nation. If unifications are the new standard for ‘conservative’, let the kumba Ya roll equally around the world. Since time is hardly an element, why aren’t we seeking reunification with our British overlords. Should we not be bowing to the crown that spawned us in the first place?
Despite all of this, there’s an element that’s sickly and getting weirder the longer this war goes on. The non-interventionist on the right have slowly devolved into a cult that’s detached from from our geopolitical interests and focused on all anomalies of Ukraine and their conduct in the war, simultaneously, also excusing Russia’s conduct. But the Biden led globalist have now also descended into cult behaviors. When the war first erupted, Biden was caught with his pants down for not standing up to and disincentivizing Putin. Once the war erupted, they went into foot dragging support and assistance. Then starts the weirdness. The woke have fetishized Ukraine almost from the beginning. That was not unexpected because the woke fetishize everything, even if it’s just a troll on conservatism. At some point, Bidens lukewarm wishy-washy Ukraine policy also slipped into cult status.
Joe Biden is no stranger to weirdness. He has a history of pawing women in photo-ops, sniffing them, and feeling up children while on camera. One can only imagine what he does off camera. Joe Biden has also demonstrated oddly sexual gestures with his sons, well documented in widely circulated photos of them together. We know that he worshiped his late son Beau and continues to adulate the manifestly fallen Hunter Biden. Joe Biden’s manner around Zelensky has some similar characteristics. Perhaps in his senile mind, Zelensky is his son, a ‘son’ that has the real accomplishment of conducting an effective defensive war against a superpower. We know this is what makes the woke Ukraine cultist giddy. We see the same impulse in famous wanna-be, Sean Penn, one that has fallen over himself to worship Zelensky, wringing his hands over his life’s work of being a pretend person in movies.
The slide from lukewarm advocate to full blown cultist was evident in Biden’s surprise and unnecessary trip to Ukraine last week, bestowing fresh rounds of $billions, billions that were hardly accountable before and now defy any accountability at all. Biden is out of control and there’s no way to pause, question, or reorder the aid he’s throwing at Ukraine. The success of the defense thus far, along with the demise of Russia’s war efforts, has Biden, Zelensky, and the whole globalist crowd, planning the reconstruction of Ukraine in some suspiciously unknown new image. This is where even cult behavior can explode into a zenith of globalist fervor; souls having been sold, they will likely try to make Ukraine into a WEF paradise, on the backs of US taxpayers. This is not what anyone signed up for in advocating for the defense of Ukraine and that outcome should not be painted on the backs of those that limited their advocacy of Ukraine to defense against Putin’s assault.
The only right answer to Putin’s war is not capitulation to the globalist or isolation from the rest of the world, it is for Russia to quit.
