I’ve mentioned before that I try to write about news and topics that are ignored by others, even conservative media. Here is a huge elephant in the room that I see nothing about as of this evening. Today, a fourth Capitol police officer that was involved in the ‘Capitol riots’ committed suicide. Aside from reporting on the matter-of-fact details, I see no one at all questioning the oddity of this tragedy. Maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and see it, but so far, crickets everywhere. Something is amiss.
According to one source delving into police suicides, in 2018, there were 17 per 100,000 police suicides, which is already well above the 13 per 100,000 in the general population. There are 2,000 capitol police officers. This year, four of them have committed suicide. That equates to a suicide rate of 200 per 100,000. Let that sink in. Considering that all four of them were active at the ‘Capitol riots,’ a scene that could not have possibly involved all 2,000 officers, that factor only elevates the shocking number.
Jen Psaki, addressing these latest events [the third and fourth suicide], stated:
MS. PSAKI: “Hi, everyone. I have a couple of items for all of you at the top. I wanted to take a moment to recognize the passing of Metropolitan Police Officer Gunther Hashida and Officer Kyle DeFreytag — two officers who bravely defended the Capitol, both during and after the insurrection on January 6th. Their deaths are a sad reminder of that shameful day in our country’s history and of the physical and mental scars left the officers who risked their lives to protect our Capitol and our democracy.
We heard firsthand, last week, from tho- — from some of those who served on that day, and their testimony reaffirmed the incredible bravery they showed in the worst possible circumstances. Their passing also reminds us of the remarkable courage of the men and women in law enforcement who serve with honor and leave home each day not knowing what risk they may face but are determined to protect their communities. We’re indebted to their services, and our thoughts go out to the friends, family, and loved ones of the two officers.”
While the tenor of the words are to be expected, there are two significant issues with the address: 1) Elevating the circumstances of the ‘Capitol riots’ beyond what was mostly, crowd control, is insulting to law enforcement given the real danger faced in true lethal circumstances by tens of thousands of officers on a daily basis. Jen needs to be reminded that none of the protestors were armed and that the only fatality was inflicted by an armed guard on and unarmed protestor. 2) She totally ignored the numbers. It’s the elephant in the room.
I just posted, (along with other thoughts) my latest observations of why the Capitol riots appear very suspicious about the government’s role, and of course I’m not alone in that observation. The top of the chain of command for the Capitol Police force is Nancy Pelosi. She is now presiding over an incident resulting in a 200 per 100,000 person suicide rate. One must now start to ask. Are these true suicides? Have any of them undergone autopsies? Did they say something? Did they know something? Attributing FOUR suicides to some trauma resulting from a large unruly event where no one was even armed, is ludicrous. I’ll predict it now: Nancy’s cover for the operation was about to be blown and that threat had to be liquidated. It will still come out.
