Our Enemies or Our Friends – Which Are More Dangerous?

Two sets of world events, compare and contrast:

After subduing Iran to the point of extracting numerous critical agreements, the war is done and it appears no one is happy – but perhaps that’s an exaggeration. Now that the terms are being revealed, still, no one will be happy, because there are an infinite number of points of concession and everyone will be to the left or the right of that mark. I’m disappointed that the people of Iran still have to live under a murderous regime but that was never within the purview of negotiations anyway. When I originally reported on that specific concern back at the very beginning of the war, the regime had just tortured, imprisoned, and killed tens of thousands of protesters. We hoped the people would rise up and finish off the job of regime cleansing but that was not to be [for reasons worthy of a separate discussion]. Yet. We can’t imagine the level of oppression that so many millions of them face, more or less permanently. Or maybe we can.

In the European Union generally and even more keenly perhaps in the now separate UK, the Labour government is arresting thousands of people for any tweet, share, or comment on social media that criticizes the governments policies, particularly about the intake and acceptance of immigrants. When a bloke is subject to an attempted beheading by a Sudanese national in middle of an Irish street, the people rise up but the Keir Starmer government advocates for immigrants. When a young English man is stabbed by a Sikh immigrant and the police hand cuff him upon the mere lying accusation of racism by the attacker, and he dies bleeding in the street, how is the Starmer government any more civilized or judicious than the previous or present remnant of the Ayatollah’s regime?

Over here across the pond, we, and the Trump administration, are trying to discern who among our allies and newly subjugated foes, is worthy of trust, or even investment. In the equation I laid out, the Iranians supposedly have just ‘entered the room’ so to speak, certainly in the estimation of the Trump administration. Meanwhile unrelated, The Brits are plummeting from their former special relationship. We’re now talking about major reductions in force from NATO. We wonder and wish that Iran would find a way to dispatch with their theocratic rulers but as I/we stand here today, I equally wonder how it is that the voters of the UK – where the hell are the women who are bearing the brunt of all the rape?! – why aren’t they clamoring for elections and driving out Labour and Keir Starmer, a pathetic weak and woke lefty that is advocating for the completed invasion and subjugation of the United Kingdom at the expense of its citizenry. Most of the rest of the EU isn’t doing much better, with just a few exceptions.
