Back so soon… News items that speak an unusual turn of events: This is a follow up on my ‘Opinion 1/20/19’. Those current events together comprise an unusual change of tide, particularly the sharp turn toward in-our-face socialism. In that context, two more events take on meaning greater than the sum of its parts
The Covington School hubbub: At first, I ignored this story as just another left – right encounter. Since then, as I watch the details unfold, it appears to signal something more. First, it comes at a time when ‘the Resistance’ and ‘Antifa’ seemed to be backing off, perhaps at the behest of Soros and eager new left-leaning candidates. In spite of the mass retractions by so many sycophant major media outlets, the ongoing hateful virulence of the true leftist believers is astounding. After all, their people did the mea culpa, right? One would not think so as this keeps unwinding. Lesson: When these same people feel emboldened by control of more institutions and particularly as led by team Ocasio-Cortez, supreme leader, look for the suspension of civil liberties and sanctioned violence against their perceived foes.
New York State Abortion law: Abortion up to birth is now legal in New York. There are a lot of people that have understandable doubts about various stages of early term abortion. This is not to even attempt to engage that conversation. Whatever doubts that most people have about early term abortion, most all non-ideological people regard late term abortions are gruesome murders on a very human level. Your baby may be born or it may have its head bashed and body dismembered in that procedure. It is the glee with which the government of the State of New York passed this bill that is surreal. If there is a hell, I sincerely hope that the table full of gleeful officials signing that bill, led by Andrew Cuomo, go there. When something seems too bizarre to be normal, reasonable, natural, it might be then regarded to have a dimension that is extra natural. Such is this dark action. Along with the emergence of the violence-sanctioned left, a form begins to take shape of what this country may look like once they come to power.
I’m not a determinist and conservative activist have their work cut out for them, but what I see in terms of intelligent reaction is patently milque-toast. I don’t believe conservatives see the potential for how fast we can go off the rails. Sure, Trump may force some short-term fixes to liberal excess, but watch how fast that can be written away with the stroke of a pen, including the dilution of Supreme Court. It’s been done before. If conservatives have all their eggs in the Trump basket, look for a guillotine coming to your neighborhood, soon.
