Everybody is weighing in on the riot within a protest in DC (1/6/20), this is the anti-weighing in. One thing I’ve learned as a news junky is that a.) there is a huge class of media organization and people that have a vested interest or compulsion to open their mouth as soon as possible, and b) because of the soon-as-possible, they’re usually wrong, sometimes very wrong. For context, understand: A Primer on How to Evaluate Media for Yourself and for Self Defense. I present, observations and questions as they stand right now.
- A woman was killed by a security guard. I watched multiple videos including one with the guard pulling the trigger on the unarmed woman approximately ten feet away. I’m surprised and not surprised that to this, all that dozens of media sites said was, ‘A woman was killed’. Passive voice. The only direct fatality is handled in passive voice. Though a fine point in a larger drama, somehow this really disgusts me.
- There were 75,000+ participants. Most of them were peaceful. There are pictures and videos. I know at least two attendees.
- Varying reports state that the assault on Congress was a) abetted by Capital Police, b) instigated by antifa (two according to one report), c) led by a ‘QAnon Shaman’ whatever the hell that’s supposed to be – though he does look the part as per images.
- Fact of the matter is that even if whatever masses were ‘goaded’ to enter and riot, essentially, a large mob was led by persons of the lowest common denominator and all others followed. This one issue is the ‘come to Jesus moment’ for the Patriot movement.
- Whatever was in the minds of the rioters, there was no plan, no strategy, no real leader, no discipline, and no end game.
- Even if you ascribe to the idea that this is the end of America right now and you fully identify with the early colonist bucking King George, this is not how you would start a revolution much less win a war.
Consequently:
- There was a legitimate effort underway to make a true protest statement for the stolen election, led by 150+ elected lawmakers. The moment the first window was cracked, two plus months of intense effort went down the toilet. (see above)
- War mongers were kicked out of the house and conservatives are left holding the cheque. (And by conservatives, I don’t mean establishment RINOs)
Having said those things:
- The two-faced hypocrisy of the media and Democrats over their love affair with leftist rioters this past year is no less real but who are you going to tell? Who is your audience now?
- Dear media: Was this an event planned by seditionist or a mindless spontaneous stampede directed and inspired by Trump? Which is it? You can’t have it both ways.
- Dear Democrats: which is more indicative of a banana republic, a riot or the well-executed midnight heist of the election just in the five states that mattered? Asking for a friend.
- Forget ‘we were not prepared’; in highly publicized news, the National Guard was ordered into the city the day before by DC mayor. Where were they? Why were others ‘called in’ in response to the riot.
- Its notable that numerous Democrat leaders are calling for arrests, not just of perpetrators to the riot, but also, those that questioned the election and supported the President. Would that be the 70 million or so that voted for him? This is not new news. In so doing, they are pointedly adding credence to the notions of those that rioted in the first place. If these Democrats really want that war, they may still get it.
