Where are they? Two entire branches of our federal government are AWOL, MIA. I know that one party controls two branches of the legislature but that’s not quite as straight forward as it seems. I know the Nancy Pelosi House is going to ram-rod anything she can through her slim majority, but the House cannot alone make a law. I know that Kamala Harris can come in and break any tie needed in the Senate, but that’s assuming a perfect party line performance. I know Presidents rely on executive orders far more than ever as both houses of Congress increasingly act like little partisan handmaidens to whoever the executive is. And where are the challenges to that executive to send up to the Supreme Court? Since when could a President spend trillions of dollars, invite millions of foreigners into the country as citizens, forgive billions in loans, enter into treaties on behalf of the United States, and force our own citizens to cower behind masks? Why are the judicial and legislative branches so content to be fully neutered?
Why are Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer so afraid of actual deliberation and legislative votes that Biden can only rule through decree? Do they not fear history even a little bit? There went an administration so weak, so afraid of a clock ticking before the next election that they refused to legislate anything.
I know I speak with but the slightest edge of hyperbole, but these are serious questions so who in the hell is minding the constitutional separation of powers? I want to know because I don’t see it.
