It’s midsummer and with small travels, holidays, and plenteous small chores, it’s quite frankly hard to write even as the world burns and there are numerous huge news stories breaking every day. That overwhelming de-motivates writing more than even a hot summer. Thus, I offer a place holder, a few thoughts, impressions, and maybe I’ll re-focus sooner rather than later.
A universal instinct among anyone not a sociopath, is the desire to see justice done, even when something doesn’t affect you directly. All of us are deeply galled to watch Joe and Hunter Biden openly flaunt their arrogance all while their leftist groupies pretend that their crime syndicate doesn’t exist. There is some small satisfaction to finally see the facts invade the comfort of their corruption. ‘The walls have been closing in’ for a long time but maybe this time it’ll really stick.
The Supreme Court has delivered what we all knew should be delivered. Again, we can say, Trump delivered. Regarding the striking down of affirmative action in college admissions, I’ve been slightly surprised that public reaction from the left even seems muted relative to how big that issue has been to them for a generation. It’s like they know they’ve had their hand in the cookie jar all along. Or it could be that they’re thinking, don’t get mad, get even; and by that I don’t mean wait a few years and make more leftist appointments. I hope the conservative justices have the best bodyguards in the business.
In Russia’s recent semi coup attempt, all options are bad or so they say. The current regime will die, inevitably, sooner rather than later, even without a coup. It is impossible for Russia to have an orderly succession of power. It’s never been in their DNA. Any outcome at this point will weaken them. Even idiots aspiring to supreme leader understand MAD.
Pride months crawls to an end. Good riddance. I hope the alphabet people enjoyed themselves because this year’s events are the last that in-your-face will come cheap and easy. Next year, they may be showing up in riot gear instead of stilettos and diapers. That’s a truer indication of what their agenda has evolved to.
In the small story department, NYC’s Mayor Adams treated an old lady, a Holocaust survivor, with openly racist abuse. I know everyone talks about Adams as if he’ll still find a way to make good. I don’t see it. Adams must go. He’s not the real deal.
