There are so many stories coming out of Washington right now, what political writer could presume to keep up with them all or offer an intelligent opinion about it. Fortunately, a great many of them involve successes of the Trump administration. As of the end of this week, another story is presently breaking that may eclipse them all. It’s a huge story involving dozens of corrupt former officials, but it can all really be condensed down to one critical story and one man; we’ll call it, ‘The Treason of Barack Obama’.
I could end this story right now with equal brevity and so could a lot of other people; ‘I told you so. The End’. I, we, saw this played out in real time over the past ten years. It’s mentioned sporadically through the archives of NER but rarely with much energy in as much as its nearly impossible to dispatch of a corrupt former President in a constitutional federation such as ours. It could be done corruptly, exactly as Obama is now being accused of doing to Donald Trump. But certainly here, I’m jumping the gun.
The crime here is a conspiracy to subvert a sitting President. A coup. Treason. Obama was the central initiator and a company of his high officials like Hillary Clinton, Brennan, Comey, Clapper, et al, were accessories to the crime. Thanks to Tulsi Gabbard, we have the receipts now which comprises the smoking gun for acts that many of us saw in plain daylight all along. A conviction of any type is speculative and formal charges of ‘treason’ specifically would be nearly impossible. Nevertheless, we have what should be years of impending legal woes visited on Barack and company. Too bad Joe Biden didn’t think to do a preemptive auto-sign pardon there, but I digress. I hear Joe grew to despise Barack.
Whether there are real charges, a real court case, or a real conviction that ever emerges is speculative. A lot of that depends on how palatable the drama might be on the electorate and ultimately on whether Trump would sign off on it. That will largely figure on if and how much it interferes with the rest of his deep comprehensive remake of the bureaucratic state. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t. In the absence of these things, the primary benefit to pursuing all this is to wrap the heaviest chains imaginable around the gods of the deep state, for three or four or five years, and render them impotent for the balance their remaining years of influence, (a process already well along). It would also be justice to bankrupt them in the process. Just as important, it would write the history books for the next generations to read. A successful conviction would do little else besides but it should be pursued nevertheless.
I’ve often referred to Barack Obama as ‘The Great Divider’. Many others have gone steps further and marked him as the point at which America as we knew it, went wrong. I don’t disagree. ‘The Great Destroyer’ might be more apropos. Oh, how he weaved his webs until one day, there were so many that he was caught by them.
