Hello Northeast Reader, it’s been awhile; since September 8 as per my check just now. This is about that interval and about the process of writing or not writing these articles. Over the past 30 plus days, I worked on multiple articles and choose not to finish them. Some were nearly finished. Of course, everything Trump dominates the news, but really, Trump is a pawn in how own phenomena. The culture wars are in full swing. I wanted to write about Kavanaugh, the basis upon which I mostly support Trump now in spite of my earlier objections and, thankfully, a piece about privacy issues. Some of this may eventually come to light, or not. The biggest problem is that when you address Trump or the culture war, the news cycle is in another place in two days, always.
But even about things like technology, privacy, AI singularities and such, this too is accelerating. Much of what I called out the past few years, or earlier in Simple Page By Lee is now mainstream news. The robots are coming they are. No need for an early warning when everyone is saying it. My main objective is to say things before the crowds say it, and by crowds, I mean the reasonable cross section of aggregated news/opinion that I observe. Because we’re now well into the experiential advanced Trumpism and advanced tech-futurism, etc., there is simply less to say. Others are saying these things quite well enough.
My hope is that I will return to more nuanced and less headline contemplation which is really were my head was in Simple Page. I may likely declare that we’ve probably already lost a lot of multi-front ‘wars’ and that we should head to the hills and eat wild grain and honey. Stock up on your food, water and toilet paper; learn how to grow, cook and defend yourself. Worthy goals are they all.
