If anyone should be gung-ho about predictions this week, it should be me. I make a lot of them, but they cover a scope of happenings that few would pay heed to. On the first week of the year, many commentators and line-journalist have piled on to the task. Amongst the conservative branch, there’s a surprising degree of agreement that 2024 is an ominous year, that a ‘black swan’ event is going to occur, maybe something bigger than a 9/11 attack. The perpetrators will be either foreign powers allowed to infiltrate us and/or our own deep state. The dark emperor, Barack Obama, is sitting back in his lair, desperately projecting the fear circulating throughout the media and news cycles and too many conservatives are buying into it. One set of headlines predicts a major cyber-attack, as in lights out, an all out throw-us-into-darkness event. Numerous others are predicting an attempted assassination of Trump, and I admit, I’ve previously mde that prediction, at least that as a possibility. Whatever is supposed to hit us, it’ll be very bad. The problem with all of this is that I, usually the ever-willing prognosticator of dark times, don’t see these happening just now.
Why you ask? It’s not for the lack of hatred, fear, or malice floating around among the factions in this country. All stripes of leftist are already in deep angst, knowing -correctly- that a Trump win means payback time. Why do they fear this? They know what they heaped on Trump, and they have every reason to believe they should get the same in return. They rightly fear, out of the sheer magnitude on what they themselves perpetrated. Not to worry though; everything Trump does will be legal and constitutional; and yet somehow, that seems to only heighten their terror.
Outside the halls of power and the DC beltway, a more practical reality is setting in. It’s the progressives themselves that have come to a point they fear to tread. It’s easy to walk across the street and file some papers in a federal court to try and stop Trump and it’s really not that hard, in their fantasies at least, to engineer some J6 style protest that would again blow up in the face of the patriot class, except that now, no one is taking the bait. They are no longer so sure they want to profoundly violate some forty plus red states all at one time. It sounds nice in theory until they consider the blowback, the ramifications, the boomerang.
As soiled as the Democrats are with the stench of Biden and the sudden doubts about shoving ‘woke’ down our throats, that is nothing compared to what might await them if they were to do any singular move to eliminate any possibility of Trump rule. They did a fair amount of damage by swarming Trump with endless niggling fake scandals, especially between 2016 and 2022, but they’ve frankly, exhausted their creativity and now everything they try only makes Trump stronger. They learned that in 2023 and are still learning, albeit always a day too late. If they try a big move now, they risk sinking the whole damn ship upon which they ride, never to rise again from the ashes of history. They are wise to fear.
There just one thing that will cause anarchy and it isn’t a terrorist attack although that would bring its own class of challenges, especially for the wider Biden regime that has openly enabled foreign infiltration into this country, so let’s say for the moment that that isn’t too likely. The biggest weakness is a general election that has thousand holes in it. Its one thing to tamper with a few swing states and that will happen, but the real problem is if a thousand races in a thousand different locations can no longer render credible results trusted by the public. This scenario risks creating the universal anarchy feared by many. The presence of six million illegal immigrants that are being courted to vote by some radicals will help to compromise faith in elections in 2024 and beyond. Dependable votes equal dependable laws and more broadly, ‘rule of law’ and the opposite is equally true. Democrats mess with that at their own peril.
2024 will be difficult enough on its own without the active systemic corruption perpetrated by the Obama/Biden regime and their woke hordes. The opposition is wiser this time.
