A week ago, I decided to do an update on the campaign. It’s still early in the campaign season and I haven’t felt a compulsion to say much yet. In an earlier piece, I had explained a passive interest for Trump or DeSantis, different obviously but both with track records for conservatism. I gave a slight edge to DeSantis because of his stability in choosing loyal and true staff, compared to Trump. In this week’s piece, I intended to update those ideas and take a few jabs at some of the typical campaign bullshittery that so often happens at this interval. All of that is out the window. With the indictment of Trump related to documents retained at his home, the United States of America is in uncharted waters. When the election process is tampered with, the campaign is irrelevant. Campaigning and holding an election can now only be looked at as registering voter mood, data collection at best. It’s just one and not the most important factor determining the outcome and it no longer reflects the will of the American people. We’ve rightfully become focused on the manipulation and fraud that happens on the back end of an election, particularly with ballot harvesting, tampered voting equipment, and dozens of other frauds and corruptions, but now we have massive tampering with the front end of an election as well, about seventeen months before the election even hits. We’re third world. Campaigning by the Republican field is nothing more than a tertiary activity when George Soros and Barack Obama and company are manipulating, weighting, and timing the entire slate of their opposing party and doing so while deflecting clear felonies from the by far most corrupt President in American history.
Some analyst are already quick to point out that Trump will be propelled into office again by this assault on the democratic process, essentially saying, team Biden has overstepped and will pay for it next November. Alternately, if Trump is totally neutralized, DeSantis could become the next in line and default front runner and by his relative youth, competence, and track record, and become the greater thorn in the side of team Biden then Trump ever would be. Either of these could be true enough on their own and I’m not prescient enough to say with assurance which if either of them would prevail but I do know this: If team Biden is desperate and crass enough to pull out this atrocity today, there are a lot more atrocities where that one came from. Republicans have a bad habit of constantly fighting yesterday’s war such that no one has time to figure out the next wave coming much less pre-empt it. At the end of the day, no matter what, we have a corrupt Department of Justice now reduced to a literal one-party political apparatus and that puts us in the company of countries like Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, or even Russia. Once they and their various surrogates around the country keep our most effective leadership, their opposition, constantly tied up in spurious prosecutions, they have finally seized their power for the foreseeable future, essentially in perpetuity.
Look for more indictments and not just against Trump. Crimes will be found even where no laws existed. Laws are made of language and language can be infinitely twisted and stretched. If Trump is neutralized, the same tactics will be used against DeSantis. On the Democrat side, watch for sudden misfortunes to Robert Kennedy due to ‘the Kennedy curse’, except that they won’t be rooted in some mythical curse. They’ll have a much more sordid cause. Don’t think that team Biden is done its assault against Justice Clarence Thomas. They have misfortunes they’ll send his way, certainly before November 2024. The other conservative Justices should beef up their security detail as well. Beware House and Senate committee leadership. Unexpected scandals and accusations will slow down and undermine your work as well. Constantly grinding away at the opposition is how despots avoid ousting.
The only sure way to defeat our now sealed slide into one party authoritarianism is an overwhelming and unexpected uprising of the voters. There is no single knockout blow to the Biden regime that will be allowed to see the light of day. It will have to be a margin of swing voters that have become disgusted by the regime and whom are themselves looking down the chasm of autocracy decide it isn’t worth the risk to go there. This is bigger than any one candidate.
