As the Biden presidency has progressed, his poll numbers have trended steadily downward. This is not news to anyone; it’s widely publicized in the press and intuitively known by a wide swath of observers. The reasons for his downward spiral in polling are also obvious.
Biden has mishandled all his own supposed initiatives through incompetence and inattention. This is because of who he was and who he is and who he will always be – even apart from the obvious progressing senility. He was always a big talker who never had to prove any serious aptitude otherwise as a member of the Senate for most of his career. His well-documented dishonesty came natural to him and everyone swallowed it with limp applause. He was always arrogant and now that characteristic blinds him. He has no vision beyond one or two layers of enablers and handlers. Some have suggested that Joe Biden’s wife should step in and have an opinion of his success or approval rating, but my observation there is that even she’s too cynical to care. She knows his time in the White House is limited, thus her time is limited, and she’s only concerned for what she can personally get out of it. There doesn’t appear to be an ounce of her being that seriously cares about how Joe Biden will be viewed by history.
Joe Biden deliberately does things to alienate one constituency after the other; first, his political enemies-galore, of course. Far from bringing anyone together, enemies are treated as non-citizens. Even neutral constituencies are driven away, as are some supposed allies such as unions in the energy industry. Do you want to know a way to endear yourself to the military? How about botching the withdrawal from Afghanistan, even against the council of your highest military advisors, and then blame them for your failure. Race relations? How about dividing everyone and demonizing Caucasians. That’ll win you votes. A lesson about how to be loved by anybody that lives in a border state and other parts of the country receiving an influx of illegal immigrants? Just have open borders and bus them all around the country where the criminals among them can find fresh victims, and those with Covid can easily infect populations with nary a test or precaution imposed upon them like the administration does to all natural citizens. Nothing builds a constituency like a imposing a vaccine mandate, demonizing millions of people who have their own reasons for not taking the vaccine, disenfranchising them, stripping them from their job, punishing their employers ruining their lives all for a meaningless political gesture. How about fecklessly jacking up inflation over gross monetary and infrastructure mismanagement and transient feel-good handouts focused on the most unproductive elements in the country – that will win you love, right? I could go on and on.
All of these things seem self-defeating if you were indeed interested in uniting the country, raising your poll numbers, gifting true prosperity to the people who you were elected to lead, but it appears painfully obvious that Biden is not in the least bit interested in any of these things. He explicitly doesn’t care on his own behalf personally, present tense, or on his own behalf as a matter of legacy and how history treats him, nor does he care on behalf of his handlers. Likewise, his handlers don’t care on behalf of Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is disposable and between his self-blinding arrogance and advancing dementia he doesn’t have enough self-awareness enough to care. His handlers have flattered him with assurances that he would be greater than FDR, and once they get what they want out of the equation, they won’t care either. To them, Joe is just a stretch of toilet paper useful only for the moment, useful for the deeply unpopular things that his fully aware handlers have him imposing on the country, knowing that they’ll be shut down in 2022 and beyond, so they will take whatever they can get out of him half a term, or really, little more than a year, then flush him away. That’s the game plan.
This is the only rational explanation for the oblivious yet willful march down into what is increasingly looking like the statistically most failed presidency in US history. No one will save Joe Biden, no one wants to, and that was their plan all along.
