In the final book of Tolkien’s ‘Lord of The Rings’, the great saga of the One Ring’s destruction is complete. The great battle has taken place, kingdom’s have been restored, evil vanquished. The hobbits, the small band of little people that ultimately ‘saved the world’, have made their way back across the expanse of Middle Earth, celebrated with the elves and the rightful king, the elven queen and all the freed races of good beings, human and others, until long at last, Frodo, Sam, Pippen and Merry come back to their own little homeland, their beloved Shire. They find it in tatters, absconded with by the worst of their neighbors and interlopers.
There are layers to the news. We have the great push – pull of electoral federal politics on a daily basis, presently led by a senile puppet despot Biden, intent on wrecking as much final havoc on the country as possible before the curtain falls on many of his flying monkey enablers in congress and state governments. It appears widely assured that by November 4th, he will be largely defanged and the colonoscopy of his and his family’s extensive corruption can at last begin.
The next layers involve the peoples and movements that feed into the big picture; the culture wars, the egos, the organizations, the movements, the institutions, the businesses and the money movers that drive the top-level big picture.
The third layer in this imperfect dissection would be the individual lives, the people that get caught up in and either benefit from or are destroyed by the mechanics that drive society. Some are movers and shakers, many are spectators, but many are also victims, most often in the sense not of the catastrophic, but of the everyday, by a dwindling retirement account, a forced second job to put food on the table, or by the loss of one’s children to the culture fanaticisms sweeping schools at all levels from elementary to higher education.
My intuition wonders that in as much as we’ve been in emergency mode now for so long, tending to the atrocities occurring at the first and second high level of political and social events, that we’ve lost touch with just how far gone our personal and community levels have been gutted; fiscally, socially, spiritually, and most especially, that the local institutions that used to be a reliable base against the giant swings on the national level, whether we’ll wake up on November 4th, survey the damage, and realize that community level support systems have been corrupted, stolen, and are even adversarial to the restorations that we envision.
Perhaps its overly optimistic that we’ll even have that much opportunity to correct where America has gone off the rails but at least, there is more than a solid consensus that it has and that it must change. We’re living our experiment with the left and it isn’t going well. The more difficult problem will not be the macro changes at the top, but rather, like the Shire of Middle Earth, some will come home to their own Bag End and find it occupied by woke filth. A consensus of votes (along with good legal vigilance) can change the top-level government in a day, but it’ll take much much longer to root out the corruption of woke right under our noses. Moreover, the cultural pipeline of poison that nurtures and feeds the cancer of woke in our own communities will not go away easily, in fact, it’ll take years. Vote, speak up, organize for what’s coming, but also be prepared to get down to the most personal level for what must be amended.
