If you follow international news, you may be familiar with top stories coming out of Russia. One of the top ones is an ongoing saga concerning the dissident, Alexei Navalny. Navalny is a major critic of Putin. Consequently, he has been persecuted. He was poisoned in an assassination attempt and came within a breath of losing his life. Upon returning to Russia, he was arrested, and thrown in jail and was compelled to begin a long hunger strike over his treatment there. This week, his lawyer was arrested as well. In Russia, a dictator like Putin can do that, systematically use brute force to silence all opposition. Anyone that arises to defend or co-protest constitutional and legal abuses is in immanent danger of receiving the same treatment as the person they’re attempting to support. Russia isn’t the only country where these kinds of abuses take place. Let’s take a look at what happens in another comparable country.
Here is a sampling of headlines I reviewed just this week with some explanations as needed:
‘You Tube Censors Dan Bongino’s Interview with President Trump’. Apparently, this country, wherever it is, does not honor first amendment rights. You Tube seems to regard the opinions of our recent President as subversive, like questioning the integrity of elections in a country that engages in routine voter fraud by the one party currently in power.
‘Feds Execute Search Warrant on Rudy Giuliani’s NYC Apartment’. So in this dictatorial country, its justice department can go on fishing expeditions. This Giuliani fellow just happens to be the same one that outed the President’s son and by extension, the President as well for running a corrupt crime arrangement with foreign governments, corroborated by numerous other past participants. This was based on a trove of data left on an abandoned hard drive. That hard drive was offered to the feds during the raid. They were not interested.
‘WaPo “Fact Checker” to Stop Fact Checking Biden’ This WaPo – Washington Post, appears to have no interest in acting in the role of independent journalism. They are fully owned by the party in power at the moment. They are one of several party owned news organizations that exist only to serve the party’s interest.
‘Feds Place Conservative Activist on ‘No Fly List” in Retaliation for Stop the Steal Rallies’ This activist has not been convicted of any crime. Just like in Russia, they can do whatever extra-judicial suppression they want to simply punish any dissident that speaks out about the corruption by the ruling party.
‘Feds Slap Indefinite Incarceration on Protesters with MAGA Politics’ Lock them up and throw away the key. This oppressive government machine instantly brands any protests by the opposition party as ‘terrorist’ and then uses that pretense to keep them jailed indefinitely so as to serve as much incarceration as possible while delaying a trial indefinitely. This country is right up there with Russia, China, North Korea in how they abuse their justice system to suppress subsequent protest. They appear to have shredded their own constitution.
‘Democrats Want FCC to Block Anti-Socialist Radio Buyers’ Because of course they can silence all opposition using the power of the state bureaucracy in a thousand different ways. Opposition can’t broadcast thoughts critical of this government if they aren’t allowed to own radio stations.
So of course you know which country this is. Their Justice Department, and their FBI is now an equal peer of Putin’s KGB or China’s state apparatus controlling and silencing all opposition, most notably of late, Hong Kong. The United States has now institutionalized using state assets to shut down opposition voices, just like Navalny in Russia or like Hong Kong opposition protests being suppressed in China.
What is even more confounding is that there appears to be at least half the country that favors this oppression, some of that half having just accused the last President of ‘fascism’ when he did none of these measures being done by the current President. Half of America doesn’t believe in a constitutional America; they want socialist autocracy now. This half of the country has turned its back on the nation that nurtured and enriched them. It brings to mind the adage, “You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out”.
