Every now and then, it’s good to produce a burner article, one that’s outdated the morning after posting it or even within hours. It’s toilet paper. Nothing fits the bill like election talk, ergo, I present a stream of consciousness not about the 2026 election, but about the prospects for 2028, the Presidency in particular. That season officially starts November 4th, 2026, the day after the mid-terms. Why waste one’s breath now? The landscape will surely change, right? Mostly yes; but most of the main players will remain in play well into 2028 and what they say and do between then and now will shape everything we talk about. Sometimes, saying something out loud – in writing – reveals ideas that are not otherwise apparent.
The 2028 election is about two parties, primarily, so it shall be here, with an *. The Republican nomination will be a footnote, almost, but I’ll address that second and last. Most of the drama for the foreseeable season is with the Democrat Party, now widely acknowledged to be in a civil war. Presently, it’s a full-scale carnival between prospects that are wildly incompetent, idiotic, and failed. The real news story with the Democrats is this: what ever happened to their ‘bench’, their pool of prospects? It’s truly farcical. Not so long in the past, seasoned men with a carefully crafted aura of a statesman used to run for President. Now they won’t touch it. Now it’s a freak show and if you don’t fit that mold you’ll be screamed out of the Democrat house. ‘Victims’ only need apply. Not that there are really any normal people in the Democrat heirarchy. Even their ‘privileged hetero white males’ have largely succumbed to the pressure to mouth the perverse new rhetoric of their far-left flank. The very few Democrats saying anything reasonable, i.e. John Fetterman, are close to leaving the party if it goes any more steps toward Auschwitz. Even the Blacks and Hispanics, traditional grievance demographics, are suddenly being kicked to the curb. In their place, behold your Democrat leaders:
Kamala – demonstrates pathologies we generally observe in alcoholics, literally incoherent, cognitively crippled, no successful professional track record whatsoever because she blew her way to the top and also literally blew a billion $ the last time she tried this.
Newsom – the hair, tragically failed leadership and track record, made California the fraud capital of the country, extraordinarily venal, demonstrates pathologies we generally observe in habitual cocaine users, deeply despised across the country and just as much in his own state and by many on his own team, perhaps for his intense propensity to see himself as the special kind of privileged reserved for manifestly incompetent members of flailing dynasties.
AOC – barista and bar tender, has never demonstrated the least intellectual acumen that would place her in any other profession above her occupational roots and as such, has a tendency to say really stupid things that a lot of eight graders would get right, carries on an ambitious Instagram-centric persona at the expense of any serious undertaking for the good of anyone other than her ambitious self, openly promotes socialism and Marxist tendencies which doesn’t do a damn thing for her congressional constituents and endeavors to do the same thing on a large scale if she ever achieves even higher office, and btw, has zero electoral experience outside of deep blue leftist audiences and yet is leading in some of the latest polls.
Buttigieg – Pete, whom I refer to as Buttleplug due to his primary identity/victim class, absolutely unaccomplished former Transportation Secretary that famously confused roads with racist because he was and is only in it for the woke, faux man that believes that a beard is all he needs to complete himself for ‘manly man’ public service, and also famously, took a whole friggin month off from running the country’s transportation to fool his adopted infant baby boy into sucking a very unsatisfying plastic replica of a woman’s tits….and did I say, that he is repulsive to all black voters and hasn’t a chance of winning any of their votes.
We have pundits and journalist looking us straight in the eye telling us in all seriousness that these people are viable Democrat candidates…well they are to about 35% of the country that are no further along cognitively than these options. Maybe a couple more will arise and round out the group but the litmus tests have changed, like: Just how badly do you hate the Jews and should we incinerate Isreal? Do you promise to pack or abolish the Supreme Court? Do you promise, no national borders? Should transing be pushed on all our kids and paid for by the taxpayers? Sorry, this is just the lightversion and if you can’t commit to these at least, don’t bother. No wonder the so-called moderates aren’t touching this.
At this point, you probably think I jest. I do not. I just have the audacity to say what these people really believe and represent. As things now stand, they are all ‘dream’ opponents of the Republican options and neither is any more viable than the others and yet, one will ultimately be chosen. Realistically, there are only a few more months for any other options to appear.
I mentioned the *, which is that an open revolt happens in the Democrat party to cast out the Mamdani style agitators trying to take over the party which as a long shot, could spur a third party. I don’t see that successfully occurring in this election cycle but it should be mentioned. In the unlikely event that this happens, it’ll be the beginning of a long long war, not the end.
On the Republican side your have:
Vance – based, experienced, battle tested, deeply in touch with the middle states grass roots. At this point, he is the undeclared chosen successor and leads solidly in the polls. I give the tiniest chance that he will not actually seek the Presidency but that is virtually impossible.
Rubio – based, experienced, battle tested, thoroughly Presidential and articulate of America First values. His only limiting factor would be his establishment roots that appear to have no present bearing on his performance.
Massie or any other Anti-Trump candidate – A few qualities that would recommend him/them as an America-First option but unfortunately, a great many other acts and words of record are directly in contradiction of those principles. He and his ilk act as if they have momentum in anti-Trumpism but it’s easy to bluster and preen on X. Massie’s re-election defeat tells a much different story. He may think Vance or Rubio are Trump clones but that’s indicative of his self-serving ignorance.
As such, the biggest revelation of the 2028 election cycle is that Donald Trump is not running. This has not yet sunk into the heads of the Democrats, anti-Trumpers, or the media. When your entire message for twelve years has been to get Trump at any cost, it’s going to be a bender finding any alternate credible message from scratch. The Democrats flushed a hundred years of tradition and messaging down the toilet to chase that bunny and I have significant doubt they’ll ever find a new one and they certainly will head to extinction if the best they can do is Marx-meets-Khomeini.
